
Charles Joseph Norris,90, of Hollywood, MD, passed away on October 20, 2025 at his home. Born on June 28, 1935 in Hollywood, MD, he was the loving son of the late Mary Catherine Abell Norris and William Richley Norris. Charles was the loving husband of Mary Louise (Lou) Norris whom he married on February 9, 1957 in Leonardtown, MD. He is survived by his son Glenn Alan Norris (Bonnie) of Hollywood, MD, two grandchildren Glenda Marie Gray (Charles) of Avenue, MD, and Angela โAngieโ (Mike) Norris Johnson, of Avenue, MD, eleven great-grandchildren Michael, Todd,(Alley),Nathaniel, Zakary, Talia, Renee, Elijah, Cora, Willow, Laci Rae and Cory Joseph, and one great-great grandchild Hayven Anthony Watts. Siblings Catherine Delores Wheeler of Hollywood, MD, John Abell Norris of Hollywood, MD, and Elizabeth Jean Guy of Hollywood, MD. He was preceded in death by his siblings William richly Norris, Robert Bernard Norris, Sr., Philip Norbert Norris, and George Franklin Norris.
Charles was a lifelong St. Maryโs County, MD, resident and graduate of St. Johnโs School. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Maryland State Highway Administration for 30 years, retiring in 1992. Charles was a hard-working tobacco farmer. He cherished making precious memories both on and off the tobacco field with family and friends. Charles always enjoyed making people laugh and telling jokes. With Charles and Glenn Alan, you never knew what adventures they were going to get into. Charles always made certain that his wife, Mary Lou was well taken care of, even by bringing her half of the whole coconut cake when she asked for just a small piece.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 3:00 PM โ 5:00 PM with prayers recited at 4:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 10:00 AM in St. Johnโs Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD with Father Ryan Braam officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Watts, Todd Watts, Cory Johnson, Steven Norris, Ricky Guy, and Mike Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Laci Rae Johnson, Hayven Anthony Watts, Michael Dean, Andrew Dean and Chris Dean.
