Charlotte Hall, MD- Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, an assisted living, and nursing program located in St. Maryโ€™s County, received today a landscape makeover from The Home Depot Foundation.ย  More than 100 Team Depot Volunteers, along with military volunteers, participated in the makeover refreshing entrances, courtyards, and gardens.ย ย  Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary George W. Owings III, presented to The Home Depot Foundation a citation from Governor Larry Hogan thanking the Foundation for the generous financial donation and volunteer support.ย 

“I would like to thank Home Depot for their shared commitment to serving our veterans,” said Governor Larry Hogan.ย  “These contributions, including a generous grant, landscape makeover, and continued volunteer support will have a positive and lasting impact for the residents and staff of Charlotte Hall.”

โ€œOn behalf of Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, I would like to thank The Home Depot Foundation and Team Depot Volunteers for this generous landscape makeover,โ€ said Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary George Owings.ย  โ€œReceiving this grant improves the landscape of the Homemaking it more inviting and enjoyable for our veterans who have valiantly served this nation and who now call Charlotte Hall home.โ€

Since 2011, The Home Depot Foundation has invested more than $198 million in veteran causes. Along with the help of Team Depot, the Companyโ€™s associate-led volunteer force, it has transformed more than 33,000 homes and facilities for veterans. The Foundation awards grants to nonprofit partners to create and improve housing for wounded, aging and senior veterans.ย  In May of this year, Charlotte Hall Veterans Home was selected to receive a $27,000 grant and Team Depot Volunteer support to beautify the grounds of the home.ย  Joining Team Depot were local military volunteers.
