Taylor Davis lives in Clements and is a 9th grade student at Chopticon High School. She has been playing guitar for about a year, taking lessons every week and recently joining a group of other girls of similar age in a band.
She took one $5 chance on the Samick Torino TR-1 guitar and amp package donated by Strings Music Center in California, and valued over $500. Her ticket won out of the more than 100 raffle tickets sold.
The raffle took place Saturday, April 9, 2006 at the end of a benefit dance hosted by HyperSpace Fun Center in Hollywood. Proceeds from the raffle and the dance went to support the Business, Education and Community Alliance (BECA) scholarship fund and Hospice of St. Mary’s.
Taylor Davis is one very happy winner!
