CALLAWAY, Md. — A multi-vehicle crash shut down a section of Point Lookout Road near Hayden Lane Tuesday morning, prompting an emergency response and significant traffic delays throughout the area.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on April 22, 2025. First responders arrived to find several vehicles involved and at least one person injured, though the extent of injuries was not immediately released.
The collision forced a full closure of the roadway in both directions. Police officers and crews from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration were on scene directing traffic and working to clear the area.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area and expect extended delays while emergency personnel continued their response and investigation into the cause of the crash.
