RIDGE, Md. — Firefighters are on scene at Point Lookout Marina in Ridge after a boat caught fire Tuesday afternoon, sending thick smoke over the 16000 block of Millers Wharf Road.
First responders were dispatched around 2:48 p.m., July 29, 2025, for reports of a vessel fully engulfed in flames at the D dock. No one was believed to be on board at the time of the fire, and no injuries have been reported.

Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy smoke and quickly upgraded the call to a structure fire due to the proximity of other boats and dock infrastructure. By 3 p.m., firefighters had knocked down the bulk of the flames, though crews remain on site monitoring for hot spots and potential flare-ups.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. This is a developing story.
