Update from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department – Nov. 12, 3:00 p.m.

At 11:35 am units from Station 9 (California Station) and surrounding departments were alerted to an auto accident with a vehicle into the building at the Planet Fitness in the Wildewood Center. Engine 91, Chief 3A, Chief 9B and Safetyโ€™s 3&9 responded immediately after dispatch.

Chief 3A (D. Burroughs) arrived on scene with a vehicle into the building and started to access the scene. E-91 & truck 7 arrived and began to make access to the patient, it was determined the patient was not trapped in the vehicle but due to the unsafe conditions of the window glass a salvage cover was placed over the vehicle to protect the patient while the glass was removed.

After a few minutes the patient was able to be safely removed from the vehicle and transported to MSMH with non-life-threatening injuries. Luckily there we no injuries to anyone inside the gym.

The incident was scaled back to Engine 91 and one EMS unit while the vehicle was removed from the building.

NDWFD Company 13 was requested for their collapse trailer, but was not needed.

Command was held by Chief 9B (K. Adams)
