Daniel A. Morgan, 64, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in Tampa, Florida, surrounded by his three loving daughters. He was born on March 19, 1961, in Warren, Arkansas, to Guy and Joy Linda Morgan.
As the son of an Air Force officer, Dan lived in several locations before moving to Maryland, where he graduated from Gwynn Park High School. He later settled in Mechanicsville, Maryland, where he built a career in construction sales and raised his three daughters before retiring to Florida. In addition to being a hardworking and devoted father, Dan was an avid fisherman. Anyone who knew him knew he would always โrather be fishing,โ constantly searching for the best spot to catch bass.
Dan is survived by his children, Amanda Isaacs (Chris) of Arlington, Virginia, Brandi Hutchins (Daniel) of Prince Frederick, Maryland, and Melissa Mattingly (Jason) of Edgewater, Maryland; his grandchildren, Harper, Jameson, Haylee, Sebby, Mikey, Miles, Hunter, and Mila; his father, Guy Morgan of Zephyrhills, Florida; his siblings, Vaun Federoff and Mitchell Morgan, both of Zephyrhills, Florida; and his former mother-in-law, Carol Ferko of Prince Frederick, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his partner, Cynthia Porter, on February 24, 2026; his mother, Joy Linda Morgan; and his former father-in-law, Norman Ferko, on January 12, 2006.
Dan wished to be celebrated rather than mourned. In lieu of a memorial service, his daughters will honor his memory and love of fishing by scattering his ashes at one of his favorite fishing spots.
To honor Danโs wishes and his favorite fishing buddy, Norm, the family asks that contributions be made in his name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsonโs Research or The Parkinsonโs Foundation.
