Washington, DC – Featured guitar artistย  David Norris a singer/songwriter from Southern Maryland will be performing at the 7th Annual Guitar Festival March 9 at the 5 South Event Center. His work is familiar among bluegrass circles, and his songs have been recorded by such fine acts as Blue Highway, IIIrd Tyme Out, Seldom Scene, the legendary Larry Sparks, as well as a few others. He grew up in Chaptico and has been writing for most of his life.

According to the Washington Post, David Norris “looks like a true Southern Marylander, straight from the waterways of St. Mary’s County. Jeans-clad and soft-spoken, he strums his guitar and taps his foot on a wooden stage scattered with fishnets and miniature lighthouses. Then, he sings ballads and bluegrass in his subtle Southern Maryland drawl. David Norris sing about riverboats and watermen, about their mother’s farm and their grandma’s quilts, and about love in Southern Maryland. They draw on their memories of old St. Mary’s County to write many of their songs.”
