St. Mary”s County Senior Activity Centers and Ripple Center are open today and tomorrow; no transportation to the Centers will be available today or tomorrow due to the conditions of the secondary roads.
Transportation is also not available today or tomorrow for SSTAP clients.
Meals On Wheels will not be delivered; recipients should use emergency meals which have previously been provided to them. Meal delivery of both daily and frozen will resume on Monday, December 28, weather permitting.

Due to the recent inclement weather Van Go will run on an altered schedule today.Fixed route service will start two hours late. There will be no morning dialysis subscription service. There will be no Nanjemoy subscription service.

Charles County Recycling Pick-ups Postponed
Due to the recent inclement weather, Charles Countyโs recycling routes will be affected. Routes scheduled for Monday, December 21, 2009 are expected to be picked up on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Routes scheduled for Tuesday, December 22, 2009 are expected to be picked up on Wednesday, December 23, 2009. Recycling routes scheduled for Friday, December 25, 2009 will be
picked up on December 26, 2009.

Charles County Government to Open 2 Hours Late, Liberal Leave in Effect
Please be advised on Monday, December 21, 2009 The Charles County Government will open 2 hours late and liberal leave is in effect for employees.
Dec. 20, 2:15 p.m. Officials from NAS PAX report that the base will operate on its normal schedule on Monday.
Dec. 20, 2 p.m. – Weather Update – St. Maryโs received approximately 16 inches of snow throughout this event.
According to St. Mary’s County officials, this is in the top five snow storms since 1893. Highway officials warn that during the day, snow will melt, but because of night cold temperatures, will refreeze each night at the beginning of the week. Meteorologists are keeping a watch on the weather that predicts a rain/snow mix for Christmas Eve and into Christmas Day.
