Details Released: Man Arrested Following Armed Robbery In Lexington Park

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – On February 12, 2024, deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Great Mills Swimming Pool located at 21100 Great Mills Road, Lexington Park for the report of an armed robbery.

The Emergency Communications Center (ECC) reported the caller said he was robbed at gunpoint, and the suspect demanded his phone and shoes.

According to official court documents, Deputy K. Marsch responded to the incident location and spoke with the victim, who was a high school senior. The victim stated they left school at approximately 11:05 a.m. The victim contacted their mother as she was typically on time to pick them up, but she was running late. The mother stated she was busy and asked if the victim could have their friend take them home. However, their friend was unable to provide a ride. So, the victim contacted their mother again, who advised she was on her way.

The victim proceeded to the parking lot of Great Mills Pool and waited for their mother. The student reportedly advised they did not want to use their vape pen on school premises, therefor they went to the pool area.

While standing in the parking lot, the victim observed a figure by the SMECO pole which they advised was the male suspect. The victim reportedly observed the male suspect use their cell phone to either take a video or photograph in the direction of the victim.

According to the court docs, the victim stated the male suspect asked them, “Where are you from?” The victim responded with “Sparks.” The victim stated the male told them he was from Houston. The suspect then allegedly proceeded to pull a gun from within the front of his sweatshirt and stated, “You know what the G is,” referencing the firearm.

The suspect then reportedly demanded the victim hand over their shoes and phone. The suspect demanded the victim provide the phone’s passcode, as well as delete their iCloud. After retrieving the items, the suspect walked away.

As the suspect left, the victim’s mother pulled into the parking lot. The victim entered their mother’s vehicle and stated they were robbed at gunpoint. The victim then used their mother’s phone to contact 911. The victim stated they had never seen the suspect before.

A description of the suspect was provided which was an African American male with, a mustache, black jacket, black jogger pants, and a balaclava. SMCSO Deputies were on the scene within minutes and observed a male suspect in the area, matching the description.

According to the docs, SMCSO Deputies observed the male suspect holding a pair of shoes in his hand. The male suspect immediately fled on foot, and a brief foot pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the male suspect was observed going over and under fences to evade Law Enforcement.

After deputies were able to successfully detain the suspect, the male provided his name and was positively identified as Delano Jurail Parham-Nash Jr, 20, or no fixed address.

Delano was identified by SMCSO Deputies from prior Law Enforcement interactions. It was determined Delano had an active arrest warrant for an armed robbery that occurred at the beginning of February 2024.

Delano was then placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center.

Shortly after, Deputies responded to the Stop-N-Shop and reviewed video footage which revealed Delano and a Caucasian female exiting a vehicle near the Stop-N-Shop. Delano was wearing clothes that matched the description. Delano was later seen walking towards the Great Mills Pool and was observed running across Great Mills Road, which is moments after the robbery occurred.

Based on recent investigations, it is known that Delano resides in the area and currently has no fixed address. Additionally, Delano is prohibited from possessing firearms due to age and prior criminal convictions. Delano is known to wear, carry, and possess firearms and continually displays the same modus operandi.

Based on everything, Delano was charged with Armed Robbery, Robbery, Firearm Use in the Commission of a Violent Crime, Assault First Degree, and other related charges.

Delano’s preliminary hearing will take place on March 12, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the St. Mary’s District Court.
