LEONARDTOWN, Md. – The Do Dah Deli has announced via social media that they will be shutting their doors at the end of the month.

“This is the end, our swan song; goodbye to romance. We will see you on the dark side of the moon. It is with heavy hearts that we have to inform all of you, our loyal customers, long-time and new friends, that The Do Dah Deli will be closing at the end of the month, Thursday, February 29th,” said the deli.

The deli opened shortly before the pandemic hit, and they were uncertain about their future. However, the deli quickly became a beloved destination for many members of the community due to its diverse menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, and other items.

“We have worked really hard, blood, sweat, and tears, for the past five years to carry on the legacy of the original Do Dah Deli, and I think Diane, the first owner, would be proud of all the hard work we put into this run,” stated the deli.

The deli then went on to thank several members of their team who helped them throughout their journey such as Vinnie, Lukas, Will, Dora, Ayden, Carey, Darrin, Maria, Nicole, Mike, and Kathy.

“Additionally, we would like to express our sincerest thanks to our customers over the years,” said the deli. “Your loyalty, support, and patronage have been the lifeblood of our business, and we are deeply appreciative of the relationships we have formed with each and every one of you. Thank you for allowing us to serve you and be a part of your lives. There are so many more people to thank and we appreciate all of you!

The shocking post garnered nearly 100 comments from community members who were saddened to see their beloved deli close.

“Thank you guys so much for everything over the last several years. It was an absolute privilege to be your food rep and most importantly friends with you all. I will miss my weekly visits and all the laughs we had talking about wrestling, sports, and family. I will miss you all.”

“Thank you for sharing your restaurant (and some staff occasionally!) with a fledgling Company when we needed it most,” said the Wildewood BBQ Company. “The Ripple of Do Dah Deli will forever be felt through our community. We wouldnโ€™t be here without your support and willingness to go beyond our expectations, so Thank You. Wildewood BBQ Company will forever be appreciative of all you have done.”

Linda’s Cafe also commented under the post and even offered to help staff members who will be looking for work.

“Hello, all at Do Dah Deli! We are so saddened to hear this news, as we have always enjoyed the deli, when in Leonardtown. If any of your staff are looking for work, please have them reach out to us. At our new location, we have increased size and business, and are definitely in need of trained hands. Our love goes out to everyone at the deli! Best days to all!”

“We truly appreciate all of your support,” said the deli. “We are all very sad to close this chapter of our lives story yet hopeful about the ones yet to be written. Keep on truckin’.”

    1. Wow Zip! You are a coward. Making comments anonymously is such a chicken ‘s’ thing to do. Is it the jealously I’m detecting ? Or is the stench from the lousy food you serve? We see you. It’s not pretty.

  1. While they will not be there anymore their effect on the community will be felt for years to come.
