BRYANS ROAD, Md. — Crews were dispatched around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026, to Dakota Street after the Bryans Road Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad received a report of a dog in distress.

When responders arrived, they found the dog at the bottom of a small icy hill, unable to make it back up the slick incline. Two firefighters carefully descended the hill, secured the animal, and brought him safely to level ground.

No injuries were reported, and officials said the dog appeared unharmed. After the rescue, the dog reportedly chose to conduct the rest of his yard business on safer ground.
