WALDORF, Md. — A man is facing possible charges after authorities say he intentionally drove a gray Dodge Ram into a Waldorf townhome belonging to someone he knows before fleeing the scene Tuesday morning.
The crash happened around 7:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, and was first reported through an iPhone crash notification to 911. Fire and EMS crews arrived in the 4100 block of Bluebird Drive, where the truck had entered the kitchen of the three-story end-unit home, causing significant structural damage. Power to the unit was shut off for safety, and a county building inspector was requested.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office said the driver fled on foot and was found minutes later by an officer in front of a Burger King on Smallwood Drive. He was transported to a hospital as a precaution and did not appear to have any injuries from the crash.
No residents were hurt, and damage was limited to the single end unit.
Charges against the driver are pending.
