
HUGHESVILLE, Md. – A driver had to be extricated from their vehicle after crashing into a tree on Prince Frederick Road in Hughesville late on the evening of March 1, 2025.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 10:15 p.m., to find the driver trapped inside the wreckage. Fire and EMS teams worked to free the individual before medical personnel provided treatment. The patient was then transported to CalvertHealth Medical Center for further evaluation.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the extent of the driver’s injuries. The preliminary investigation indicates that a Ford truck was traveling on Prince Frederick Road when for unknown reasons, traveled off the roadway and struck a tree. Police do not believe impairment was a factor in this crash.Â
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Maryland State Police.
