Harwood, MD – The Anne Arundel County Police Department reported that early Friday morning, Dec. 21, at approximately 12:41 a.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on northbound Solomons Island Road (MD Route 2) just north of Harwood Road in Harwood.
Preliminary investigation showed that a BMW was traveling northbound on Solomons Island Road when the driver lost control for an unknown reason and struck a BGE pole. The driver of the BMW, identified as Jacob Jasper Greene, 23 of Lothian, sustained serious injuries and was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma.
At this time, it is believed that speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash. The Traffic Safety Section is assisting Southern District with the investigation and the case will be reviewed by the States Attorney.
