Driver Trapped And Injured After Serious Crash In Park Hall, Medevac Requested

PARK HALL, Md. — A Toyota Tundra crashed into a utility pole early Friday morning in St. Mary’s County, leaving the driver pinned inside the vehicle and prompting an air medical response.

The crash occurred around 8 a.m. Jan. 9, 2026, near 18400 Point Lookout Road in front of Cook’s Liquors and Deli. Emergency crews arrived to find the pickup truck off the roadway and resting on its side, with the driver pinned and injured.

Firefighters carried out a prolonged extrication, removing portions of the vehicle to free the occupant. The driver was extricated at approximately 9 a.m. Crews established a landing zone in a field nearby for Maryland State Police Trooper 2.

The patient was airlifted to Baltimore Shock Trauma Center for treatment.

Point Lookout Road is shut down in the area as crews worked at the scene, and motorists were advised to expect delays.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
