At 6:38 a.m.,On Jan. 3, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to
St. Charles Parkway

and

Post Office Road

in Waldorf for the report of a motor vehicle crash.

 

Investigation revealed a 1995 Ford Taurus was traveling north on St. Charles Parkway and attempted to turn left onto Post Office Road but failed to yield the right of way to a 2005 Toyota Camary.

 

Investigation revealed the driver of the Ford, Michael Christopher Nero, 28, of Oxon Hill, was intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and failing to yield right of way on a left turn. He sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash but refused medical treatment.

 

The driver of the Toyota, Gerado Alberto Hernandez, 24, of San Antonio, Tx., was not injured. Both Nero and Hernandez were wearing seatbelts. Nero was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the district court commissioner. Officer R.
