SOLOMONS, Md. — Firefighters contained a marina fire early Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, after flames broke out in a detached storage building on the property.

The fire was reported around 5:19 a.m. at Spring Cove Marina, located at 455 Lore Road in Solomons. Crews arrived to find the metal storage building burning and heavy smoke rising from the structure. About 50 firefighters responded, bringing the one-alarm fire under control within 30 minutes.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the blaze began inside the garage, which was used to store vehicles and equipment. The fire spread to a nearby camper where an occupant was sleeping, but the individual escaped without injury.
