ST. LEONARD, Md. — A house fire broke out just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in the 5000 block of Decatur Street, prompting a swift response from emergency personnel.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found smoke showing from the two-story house. Crews quickly deployed hoselines to knock down the flames while additional personnel conducted searches of the home, ventilated the structure, and performed overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials from the Office of the State Fire Marshal were requested to the scene and are working to determine the origin and circumstances surrounding the incident.
