WALDORF, Md. — Eight people, including two children, were taken to hospitals late Thursday after a multi-vehicle crash on Leonardtown Road near Mattawoman Beantown Road in Charles County.

The crash was reported around 11:10 p.m. Nov. 27, 2025 as a serious motor vehicle collision involving four to five vehicles.

Crews arrived to find multiple vehicles heavily damaged and debris scattered across the roadway. The crash was initially treated as a possible entrapment, but responding crews later confirmed that no one was trapped. EMS evaluated several patients on the scene.

In all, eight patients were transported from the scene. Seven were taken to UM Charles Regional Medical Center, and one was taken to Southern Maryland Hospital Center.

Those transported included a 50-year-old woman, a 12-year-old child, a 5-year-old child, a 19-year-old woman, a 22-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man, a 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
