A Mark Arness for Congress Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, April 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Solomons Island Yachting Center and Bluefish Pub in Solomons, Md. Mark is the GOP 5th District House of Representatives candidate; come join his campaign to unseat 33-year Democratic incumbent Steny Hoyer. Mark “Doc” Arness is the only candidate to take the Term Limits Pledge which reads, in part, “I Mark Kenneth Arness, pledge that as a member of the US House of Representatives I will cosponsor and vote for the US Term Limits Amendment of three House terms and two Senate terms and no longer limit.

St. Mary’s County Republican Club

Guest Speakers at the SMCRC meeting held at D.B. McMillan’s Restaurant in Wildewood on April 17 included six of the current candidates for the 2014 June 24 Primary who are running for the Republican Central Committee: current RCC members Chair Mary Burke-Russell, current Vice-Chair Julie Burk-Greer, current Recording Secretary yours truly, along with Joe DiMarco and Kevin Cioppa, and candidate Stu Garlington. Other 2014 candidates in attendance at the meeting were Deb Rey, Club President and herself a candidate for Delegate in St. Mary’s County’s District 29B, Matt Morgan, candidate for Delegate in St. Mary’s County’s District 29A, candidate for St. Mary’s County Commissioner Mike Hewitt, 5th District candidate for House of Representatives Mark Arness, and RCC candidate Greg Sauter. At the next General Membership Meeting to be held at D.B.
