
CALIFORNIA, Md. — Dangerous cold will persist across the Mid-Atlantic through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
A Cold Weather Advisory was issued at 9:47 a.m. EST Saturday, Jan. 31, warning of wind chills ranging from zero to 10 degrees below zero across Washington, D.C., and much of Maryland and Virginia.
The advisory covers central, northeast, northern, and southern Maryland, along with central, northern, and northwest Virginia, and remains in effect from 10 p.m. Saturday until 1 p.m. EST Sunday.
Forecasters caution that exposure to the cold could lead to hypothermia or frostbite without proper protection, urging residents to limit time outdoors and take precautions.
