Huntingtown, MD— To the Community of Calvert County, Calvert County Public Schools, Huntingtown United Methodist Church and HHS Field Hockey, The McCrory family can never sufficiently thank you for all the loving and generous support at the Fund Raiser held for my husband on December 19 at Huntingtown United Methodist Church. We were truly humbled as our daughter sent pictures of the breakfast.
Alan did not know about the fundraiser until that day. You can only imagine his reaction to the overwhelming support from friends, church members, co-workers and people he had never met before. To try and thank every person that put so much time and effort into all of this is just impossible. I do know Karen Maxey and Kelly McConkey helped spread the word, Pastor Keith opened up the celebration hall to hold the breakfast, Violet and Donald Downs helped organize and cook and, of course, all the volunteers who were there that day to make this a success.
Thank you to everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all your love and generosity. We are truly blessed to live where people really do care and show their love. It has been a journey for our family but our prayers are being answered as Alan is getting his strength back each day while we are still in Baltimore.
This editorialย is in response to aย breakfast that was held on Dec.19 to help the family defray costs for Alan McCrory, a carpenter for Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS), was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) in 2013
