Fire Erupts In Waldorf Causes Significant Damage To Vehicles

WALDORF, Md. — The Office of the State Fire Marshal investigated a fire that occurred yesterday afternoon on Old Washington Road near Bad Dog Alley in Waldorf.

The incident, which was reported by a passerby at 12:30 p.m. on March 6, 2024, involved a fire in an outbuilding being utilized for vehicle repair. The fire damaged the building and three passenger vehicles inside the structure.

Upon arrival, crews found the structure fully engulfed in flames. A total of 50 firefighters responded and had a bulk of the fire knocked within minutes of arrival. It took about 20 minutes to control the fire.

The State Fire Marshal estimated the loss to the structure at $2,000 and the contents at $4,000. There were no smoke alarms in the outbuilding.

The interior of the building was the area of origin. The fire has been determined to be accidental. No injuries were reported.
