Waldorf, MD – A Charles County volunteer fire department vehicle was involved in a crash early Sunday morning, Jan. 13, authorities reported. According to a fire company report, at approximately 5 a.m. a Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department unit, Squad 3, was involved in the crash in the 2700 block of Crain Highway (US Route 301).
The squad was responding to a reported structure fire when the crash occurred, the report stated. No other vehicles were involved. No injuries were reported. A preliminary investigation has determined icy road conditions were a contributing factor to the crash. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
