MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — Firefighters battled a building fire early Tuesday morning on Copsey Farm Lane.

Crews were dispatched around 3:43 a.m., Dec. 9, 2025 to the 38100 block of Copsey Farm Lane for reports of a structure fire. When they arrived, they found a 20-by-40 building fully involved.

Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department’s Truck 7 was the first ladder truck on scene. The driver and tillerman set up for possible master stream operations while the crew assisted Engine 22 with attacking the fire and opening up the structure.

Engine Tanker 74 arrived shortly after and operated as the second due engine company. Its crew deployed a backup line to support Engine 22’s fire attack, while also completing tanker shuttles from a nearby hydrant to maintain water supply at the fire ground.

All units remained on scene for about two hours before returning to service.

The fire remains under investigation.
