shed fire in southern maryland

AVENUE, Md. — Firefighters responded Thursday evening to a blaze that engulfed a shed and spread to nearby trees, a school bus, and a large pile of logs.

The fire was reported on March 13, 2025, at 5:56 p.m. in the 38000 block of Sugar Hole Road, where crews arrived to find a 10-by-10 shed fully involved. The flames had extended to a bus, surrounding brush, and a 20-by-25 pile of logs.

Firefighters worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire before it could spread further. No injuries were reported. The Office of the State Fire Marshal was notified and is investigating the cause of the fire.
