One common mistake is stacking plates flat inside a box. Instead, plates should be packed vertically — similar to records — which helps distribute pressure more evenly during transit and reduces the chance of cracking.

Johnson said his goal is to make sure families feel informed and confident before moving day arrives.“We want people to know what to expect,” he said. “When you understand the process, it becomes a lot less stressful.”
