LEONARDTOWN, Md. — This weekend, you can participate in a fun, unique challenge in Leonardtown: find the rubber ducks.
The Rubber Duck Challenge invites people to “shop and stroll” in Leonardtown from Nov. 7 to Nov. 9 and find the rubber ducks hidden in the shops. Once you find the rubber duck, you can get your “passport” stamped for an opportunity to win prizes. More than 15 businesses are participating in the challenge. The event kicks off at Leonardtown’s First Friday event on Nov. 7.
Passports are available online, and you can bring them around to the businesses as you find the rubber ducks. You can also download the map of participating businesses to learn where to find the ducks.

It’s free to participate, but the ducks won’t just be laid out in plain sight. Finding the ducks is part of the fun, and you have the opportunity to explore new shops in Leonardtown to get you ready for your holiday shopping in just a few weeks.
Once you’re done, you can turn in your passport at any of the participating locations by closing on Nov. 9. The more stamps you have, the bigger the prize option you’ll be entered to win. So far, prizes are being kept under wraps, and winners will be announced on Nov. 14.
