BRYANS ROAD, Md. — The Charles County community is mourning the loss of a beloved husband, father, and friend after a fatal ATV crash late Monday night.

According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, 41-year-old Nathan Ellsworth Proctor died on May 26 after the ATV he was operating veered off the roadway and struck a tree near the 2700 block of Shiloh Church Road. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 11:28 p.m. and attempted lifesaving measures, but Proctor was later pronounced dead.

Proctor’s wife, Tiffany, was among the first to reach him and reportedly performed CPR before emergency crews arrived. Despite her efforts and those of first responders, he passed away en route to the hospital.

Loved ones describe Proctor as a bright spirit who brought laughter and love wherever he went. A father to three daughters — Zionna, Diamond, and Destiny — he was known for his deep devotion to family and generosity toward others.

“He was someone who would drop everything to help anyone in need,” reads a message on a GoFundMe page launched to help the family with funeral expenses. The fundraiser had garnered more than $4,300 as of this writing.
