
LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Tyler Gage Wathen, 19, of Lexington Park, has been indicted by a St. Mary’s County grand jury on three counts of sexual solicitation of a minor, according to court filings. The alleged offenses occurred on or between July 15 and Aug. 31, 2025.
Court documents allege that Wathen knowingly solicited a person he believed to be a minor to engage in sexual activities that would be unlawful under Maryland Criminal Law Article §11-207, in violation of Criminal Law Article §3-324 of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
Under Maryland law, it is illegal to engage in sexual acts with a person under the age of 16. It is also a separate offense to knowingly solicit, request or attempt to persuade a minor to engage in such prohibited sexual conduct, regardless of whether physical contact occurs.
No additional details regarding the investigation or arrest have been publicly released. Wathen remains under court supervision pending further proceedings. His jury trial is scheduled to begin on Jan. 12, 2026, in St. Mary’s County Circuit Court.
Under Maryland law, sexual solicitation of a minor carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $25,000 per count if convicted.
