LA PLATA, Md. — Two people were injured Monday afternoon in a head-on crash at the intersection of Mason Springs Road and Malcoms Ridge Place.
The collision, reported shortly before 1:35 p.m. Jan. 12, 2026, involved two vehicles, including a black Toyota Scion. First responders arrived to find both drivers injured, prompting requests for additional transport units.
One patient, a 70-year-old man, reported pain to his leg and head. A second patient, a 53-year-old man, was also evaluated at the scene. Both individuals were assessed by emergency medical personnel and determined to require hospital transport.
The patients were transported separately to UM Charles Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
