UPDATE – Five injured in serious, head-on collision

UPDATE 2:52 PM – The last of the patients is being transported to an area hospital. A total of five were injured in the accident, with three patients transferred to an area trauma center and two to Medstar St. Mary’s Hospital.

UPDATE 2:49 PM  – A reporter from The BayNet has arrived on the scene. Stay tuned for updates and photos.  

UPDATE 2:41 PM – CPR is being performed on one patient. Command is now requesting Mechanicsville Road to be closed at both ends by state highway.  

UPDATE 2:32 PM – Units are on the scene and are requesting a total of five ambulances and status of helicopters.

5/30/16 Mechanicsville, MD (2:23 pm) – A motor vehicle accident has been reported on Mechanicsville Road in the area of Gander Court. The accident is reported to be a head-on, serious collision. More details to come when available.
