Annapolis, MD โ On Friday, Sept. 22, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced the appointments of Donine M. Carrington (pictured, right) to the Circuit Court for Charles County and Lawrence F. Kreis Jr. to the Circuit Court for Harford County. The governor made the appointments after reviewing nominees from the judicial nominating commissions.
โAfter a detailed and careful vetting process, I am confident that Donine Carrington and Lawrence Kreis are the most qualified candidates to fill these vacancies,โ said Governor Hogan. โTheir commitment to the rule of law and unparalleled respect for the judicial process will make them invaluable additions to their respective communities.โ
Donine M. Carrington currently serves as a prosecutor for the Prince Georgeโs County Stateโs Attorneyโs Office and has been a special prosecutor in Charles County since 2015. She also served as an assistant state’s attorney in Montgomery County from 1995 to 1996. Ms. Carrington obtained her B.A. from Syracuse University and earned her J.D. from the Yeshiva University Cardozo School of Law.
Lawrence F. Kreis Jr. is currently the deputy counsel of the Contract Litigation Unit at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General. He worked as an attorney for 14 years with Stark and Keenan, P.A., after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Stephen M. Waldron in the Circuit Court for Harford County. Mr. Kreis obtained his B.A. from Towson University and earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law.
