
WHITE PLAINS, Md. — A vehicle fire inside a garage was quickly contained Thursday afternoon, April 23, 2026, preventing it from spreading to a nearby commercial property in White Plains.
Fire units from the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department and surrounding agencies responded around 3:00 p.m. to the 4400 block of White Plains Lane for a reported vehicle fire inside a garage.
Upon arrival, crews found no visible fire from the exterior. Firefighters confirmed the fire had already been knocked down and conducted checks to ensure it had not extended into the structure or surrounding areas.
Additional units were placed on standby as crews completed a thorough inspection. Minor smoke remained inside the garage and was cleared through natural ventilation.
No injuries were reported.
Officials said the fire was contained without extending beyond the vehicle, preventing damage to the commercial structure.
