BRYANS ROAD, Md. — A man is facing multiple charges after allegedly taking a vehicle and wallet from a Charles County home where he had been staying, according to court documents.
Gilles Tagne, whose age and hometown were not listed in charging documents, has been charged with unauthorized removal of a motor vehicle, credit card theft and theft of property valued under $100 in connection with an incident on March 21, 2026.
According to the charging documents, the victim reported that Tagne had been staying at the residence for approximately three weeks with permission prior to the incident.
On the morning of March 21, the victim discovered their vehicle was missing from the home along with a wallet that had been left inside the car. The vehicle was described as a 2024 Volkswagen Taos.
Investigators say Tagne allegedly took the vehicle without permission and also removed the victim’s wallet, which contained debit cards, credit cards and a driver’s license. Unauthorized transactions were later reported on the victim’s accounts.
The victim told authorities Tagne had access to the home and was familiar with where the keys were kept, allowing him to take the vehicle from the residence. Ring camera footage reportedly showed the suspect leaving the home with the vehicle.
Court records indicate the incident occurred at a residence on Bridgewater Drive in Bryans Road.
A summons was issued on March 21, 2026.
A preliminary inquiry hearing is set for May 11, 2026, in Charles District Court.
