On Aug. 25, Sheriffโs Office Deputies were in the area of a Lexington Park apartment complex conducting a follow up investigation to a reported sexual assault.
Deputy Kevin Meyer located a suspect that fit the description and attempted to speak to him. The suspect, Tammary Faheema McKnight, 24 of Lexington Park, interfered with Deputy Meyer and stood between the two.
She was loud and shouting profanities in protest of her family member being interviewed. She was physically restrained and removed by onlookers and friends in an attempt to prevent her from being arrested.
McKnight left the area, only to return acting in the same disorderly manner, using profanities as she demanded to know the particulars of what was taking place.
There were an estimated 100 residents and on lookers forming.
She failed to leave again after several requests were made and Deputies attempted to place her in custody for disorderly conduct and hindering their investigation.
She resisted arrest and was eventually placed into custody. She was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Failure to obey a Lawful Order, Obstructing/Hindering and Resisting Arrest.
