The Huntingtown Hurricanes rolled into Morganza to face the Chopticon Bravesย on Thursdayย afternoon, April 8,ย and came away with a dominating 12-5 victory. The sun and warm temperatures held out long enough as the winds started to kick up throughout the game.
Huntingtown started the scoring on a goal from Andrew Fulginiti with 9:59 remaining in the first quarter and never looked back taking a 4-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 5-1 lead at the half.
Chopticon broke through with 33 seconds remaining in the first half on the first of three goals from Nick Landavazo. Chopticon(3-2) also added goals from Chris Schopmer and Sean Keating in the second half.
Huntingtown and coach Pete Kerwin were led by Brian Johnstonโs four goals and three assists and four goals from Steven Athens. Tyler Ricchiuto added two tallies for the Hurricanes(2-2).
