Upper Marlboro, MD— “We are building a better beer, we intend to make the best beer we can make, and we are going to do it consistently,” said Michael Scarborough, who is manager/partner of Calvert Brewing Company.ย
Calvert Brewing Companyย is days away from opening their new 28,000 square-foot facility located at Commerce Court in Upper Marlboro. This new facility has touches of their old roots at their farm in Calvert County, and new elements that show growth in their beer production.ย
“We have a huge following, that supports what we are doing here, and we are confident that people will enjoy our new facility,” said Sam Riley, who is the operations manager at Calvert Brewing Company.ย
Calvert Brewing Company has an assortment of beers including fan favorites like Route 4 IPA, Opening Day Cream Ale, and new brews such as Irish Red Rye.ย
At this facility beer enthusiastsย can buy beer and other merchandise. “People can purchase up to twenty-four beers at this location. Also, people can fill their growlers full of their favoriteย selection of beer,” said Riley.ย
For those who do not know what a growler is, it is a large bottle to carry fresh beer from the local pub to one’s home using a small-galvanized pail.
When asked why do you enjoy making beer, Master Brewer at Calvert Brewing Company Matt Ducey responded, “I enjoy drinking good beer. I got into this industry because at the time there were not a lot of optionsย where I was, and my mother always taught me to make something of your own.”
