
CALLAWAY, Md. — A 4-month-old infant boy was airlifted Tuesday, March 10, 2026, after falling 3 feet from a bed at a residence in Callaway, prompting a medical helicopter response.
Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 11:11 a.m. to the 20900 block of Point Lookout Road for a reported pediatric trauma involving an infant who had fallen from a bed.
Due to the patient’s age and the potential for serious injury, a medical helicopter was requested to assist with transport.
Maryland State Police Trooper 7 responded and landed nearby at the old Second District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad before transporting the infant to Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., for further evaluation and treatment.
Additional details about the infant’s condition have not been released.
