Leonardtown, M.D— On the morning of Aug. 21 Judge Michael Stamm sentenced Charles T. Moore, 31, of Lexington Park to 18 months as a result of a second degree assault charge.
The jail term will be served in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
In addition Judge Stamm gave Moore five years supervised probation and also granted work release if Moore qualifies.ย
Moore’s defense attorney Daniel Slade made his last pitch to help reduce Moore’s sentencing potential.
“Moore’s parents are glad to see some change. He has a drug problem, but he has done an incredible job in recovery. Moore battles deep depression problems also,” said Slade.
Judge Stamm gave Moore an opportunity to explain his remorse to the court. ย ย
“I would like to apologize, what I did was wrong. I don’t excuse my behavior, I have a baby. I sincerely apologize,” said Moore.
Judge Stamm also gave Moore an order to have no contact with the victims in this case.
“If you don’t get a handle on this addiction, you won’t see your baby girl,” said Stamm.
