Leonardtown vs La Plata game september 19 2025

LA PLATA, Md. — The Leonardtown Raiders shut out the La Plata Warriors 58-0 on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at La Plata High School. The Raiders controlled the game on the field, while their cheerleaders kept the sidelines busy with a kick line that matched the growing total on the scoreboard with each point.

Leonardtown struck often, piling up touchdowns while its defense kept La Plata off the board. A 64-yard touchdown run in the first half helped set the tone as the Raiders built a 40-point lead by halftime. In the second half, Leonardtown continued to add to the total while its defense preserved the shutout.

On the sidelines, Leonardtown’s cheerleaders got their own workout, performing a kick line after each score. The tradition calls for the squad to match the team’s total points on the board with the same number of kicks. As the score kept climbing, so did the kicks, giving the crowd something extra to cheer about. By the second half, fans were joking that the squad should start counting by fives or tens just to keep up. The cheerleaders stuck with it, though, wrapping the night with one last kick line to celebrate the Raiders’ 58-point shutout.
