Leonardtown Wins 4A Field Hockey State Championship With 3–1 Victory

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Leonardtown captured the MPSSAA Class 4A field hockey state championship on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, with a 3–1 win over Severna Park at Stevenson University’s Mustang Stadium.

The victory capped a standout season for the Raiders. Leonardtown advanced to the final after postseason wins over Richard Montgomery (11–0) and Urbana (5–1).

Severna Park, a perennial state power, struck first before Leonardtown answered with three unanswered goals to seal the title.

The state finals were part of the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association’s championship slate hosted at Stevenson University in Owings Mills.
