LEXINGTON PARK, Md. A Lexington Park couple remains held without bond after authorities executed a search warrant at their Chapman Drive residence and allegedly discovered cocaine, drug packaging materials, and multiple food stamp cards belonging to other individuals. Ciera Sada Green, 39, and Thomas Emanuel Gross, 39, both of Lexington Park, face felony drug distribution charges following the Oct. 9, 2025, raid, according to court documents.

St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office detectives executed the search and seizure warrant at the 46000 block of Chapman Drive as part of an ongoing investigation into controlled dangerous substance distribution. Court records show only Green and Gross were present when authorities entered the residence.

Documents reveal investigators located foil paper containing suspected cocaine, a tied-off plastic bag containing inositol powder, a digital scale with brown residue on the weighing platform, and a large amount of used and unused plastic packaging material. Authorities report the search also uncovered multiple buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual films, nitrile gloves, and various food stamp cards belonging to other individuals.

Court filings indicate all items were found in areas accessible to both Green and Gross. Records show the arresting detective completed training at the Southern Maryland Criminal Justice Academy on detection and identification of controlled dangerous substances. Based on that training, authorities allege the items and the manner in which they were located indicate both suspects possessed drugs with intent to distribute.

Court documents state inositol powder is a known cutting agent used by drug distributors in St. Mary’s County. Filings indicate investigators noted that food stamp cards are sometimes used as a form of payment in drug transactions, while nitrile gloves are commonly used to package and prepare controlled dangerous substances.

Both Green and Gross face identical charges, including possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances, two counts of possession of controlled dangerous substances not cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The primary felony charge of possession with intent to distribute carries a maximum penalty of 20 years’ imprisonment and a $25,000 fine. Each misdemeanor possession charge carries a maximum of four years’ imprisonment and a $25,000 fine, while the paraphernalia charge carries a maximum of four years’ imprisonment and a $25,000 fine, if convicted.

Judge Karen Christy Holt Chesser presided over bail review hearings for both defendants on Oct. 10, 2025, ordering them held without bond. Court records show both Green and Gross initially waived their right to an attorney at their initial appearances but were later determined eligible for public defender representation.

The St. Mary’s County Public Defender’s Office entered an appearance for Green on Oct. 14, 2025, and filed motions for speedy trial and discovery inspection. Records show Gross filed a motion to continue or postpone on Oct. 15, 2025.

Green’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 6, 2025, while Gross’s preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 3, 2025, both in St. Mary’s County District Court. The preliminary hearings will determine whether sufficient probable cause exists to forward the cases to Circuit Court for trial on the felony charges.

The State’s Attorney’s Office for St. Mary’s County is prosecuting all charges against both defendants. Court documents indicate the case dates show July 7, 2025, as the offense date, though the search warrant was executed Oct. 9, 2025.
