
On January 1, 2017, the Maryland Department of State Police, Licensing Division, Firearms Registration Unit, launched the automated Licensing Portal for submission of the 77R and, to date, the new system has been successfully utilized for over 12,000 firearm applications. We would like to thank all Maryland Regulated Firearms Dealers for their continued feedback and support during the automation process and rollout.
On Tuesday, April 18, 2017, we would like to invite all of our Maryland Regulated Firearms Dealers to attend our Licensing Portal’s 90-Day Forum to answer questions and to hear your observations regarding the process. The Licensing Portal’s Forum will be held at the Maryland State Police Headquarters, in the Building “C” Classroom, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and will consist of an overview of the Portal and open discussion regarding the system. The feedback we receive from our dealers, the primary users of the Licensing Portal, is invaluable as the Division continues to enhance our suite of automated tools and processes.
