WALDORF, Md. – On April 9, detectives assigned to the Charles County Drug Task Force (CCDTF), with assistance from the CCSO Neighborhood Enforcement Team, K9, and Animal Control, served a search warrant relating to a drug investigation at an address in the 2600 block of Academic Court in Waldorf, and at a business in the 8000 block of Matthews Road in Bryans Road, MD.
During the search, investigators recovered two handguns, an assault rifle in pistol form, an AK-style assault rifle in pistol form, high-capacity drum magazines, extended handgun magazines, numerous rounds of ammunition, body armor, cocaine fentanyl, and approximately 497 grams (half a kilogram) of heroin.
The suspect, Nathan Robert Templeton, age 58, of Waldorf, was arrested on the scene. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs, illegal possession of firearms by a convicted felon, and numerous other related charges.
He is currently being held without bond at the Charles County Detention Center. CCDTF Officer Clements of the La Plata Police Department is investigating. Â

Yet our Maryland legislature refuses to increase penalties for crimes committed with guns and chooses to continue to restrict where law abiding citizens with concealed carry permits can legally carry to protect themselves from lawless felons
increase it for what?
Stealing firearms from law abiding citizens.
Drug dealing should be considered a crime of violence. The drugs are killing people, drug dealers are killing people. Look at the fire power this guy had and he is a convicted felon. Where did he get the weapons? Whoever is supplying firearms to drug dealers should also face yrs of incarceration in the big house. No early parole!
I think the people doing the drugs are killing themselves! Don’t do drugs and you wouldn’t have that problem. As for the weapons…they are everywhere illegally, clearly if the person is a felon they don’t follow the laws so I don’t think anyone would ever know where they got the weapons. Common sense here people!!
So in looking at related stories to this, guns are the focal point of the articles. This guy got caught with over a pound of a heroin. Fentanyl is the #1 cause of drug overdoses and deaths in the US.
This site and others are just following MDs lead about scaring the public, and penalizing law abiding citizens who are gun owners, rather than making being caught with these weapons a felony.
I agree 100% on this issue. That doesn’t me to say that all gun ownership should be allowed! We have a right to protect ourselves from these criminals.
