WALDORF, Md. — A Hughesville man has been charged with second-degree burglary and theft after deputies linked him to a break-in at a Waldorf beauty bar earlier this month, according to court documents.
Michael Hemi Fischer, 28, is accused of breaking into Legend Beauty Bar on Crain Highway on Dec. 6, 2025, and stealing a tote bag with along with various beauty products valued at roughly $600.
Deputies responded around 7:50 p.m. after the business owner reported contacting a man who was sitting outside the shop. The owner told deputies the man — later identified as Fischer — was wearing clothing identical to that seen on surveillance footage from the break-in. Staff discovered missing merchandise and reviewed video showing a male entering the business, picking up items and moving around the store.
The owner also reported that additional beauty products had gone missing just days earlier, on Dec. 3, and believed the same individual had been returning to the business repeatedly. Deputies noted that Fischer had been identified in prior law enforcement contacts and had recent interactions with deputies involving trespassing at multiple businesses in the Waldorf area.
Fischer faces second-degree burglary, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison, and theft between $100 and $1,500, a misdemeanor that carries up to six months in jail and a $500 fine.
Fischer is set to appear for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 2, 2026, in Charles County District Court.
Fischer was released on his own recognizance on Dec. 7 following his bail review.
