HANOVER, Md. – A Hanover man is facing multiple firearms-related charges following a reported road rage incident Saturday afternoon in Anne Arundel County.

Around 2:30 p.m. on April 19, officers were dispatched to the area of Arundel Mills Boulevard and Ridge Road after receiving a report that a driver had brandished a handgun during an altercation. Responding officers canvassed the area and located the suspect’s vehicle traveling on Arundel Mills Boulevard near Route 100.

A traffic stop was initiated, and officers discovered a loaded handgun inside the vehicle, police said. Officer Maldonado took the driver into custody without incident.

The suspect, identified as Gary Earnest Hines, 63, of Hanover, was charged with multiple offenses including possession of a loaded handgun in a vehicle, reckless endangerment, and carrying a handgun on his person.

Hines was held on an $8,500 bond at a local detention facility before being released the following day after the bail was posted by a bondsman.
