ย At 4:48 P.M. on Friday, October 28, 2011, rescue crews were dispatched to the 29000 block of Three Notch Road for the personal injury accident with a fuel leak which caused hazmat crews to be dispatched as well. Crews arrived on scene to find two vehicle involved in a “t-bone” style collision in the intersection of Thompson Corner Road and Three Notch Road with an unknown leak, one of the vehicles having significant passenger compartment intrusion, and all occupants out of the vehicles. Crews immediately went to work initiating patient care, investigating the leak, and securing the vehicles. It was determined that the leak was water coming from plants in one of the vehicles which caused the hazmat team to be returned to service. It was quickly decided that the patient would need to be flown to a trauma center for additional care which lead to a landing zone for Trooper 7 at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. The other driver refused patient care and the last fire/resuce vehicle cleared the scene of the incident at 5:31 P.M. South bound Three Notch Road was closed during the duration of this incident.
