Man Flown Out After Found Shot Inside Crashed Vehicle In Lexington Park

UPDATE – 23-Year-Old Killed In Lexington Park Shooting Following Motor Vehicle Accident, Homicide Investigation Underway

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – On February 26, 2024, at approximately 9:12 p.m., police and emergency personnel responded to a motor vehicle accident and shooting in the area of Fox Ridge Drive and Spring Valley Drive. 

Upon arrival, police located the vehicle off the roadway into a fence and structure. A male victim was found inside the vehicle conscious and breathing, but suffering from gunshot wounds to the head and leg. EMS requested a MEDEVAC for the victim.

Firefighters established the landing zone at Chancellor’s Run Regional Park for Maryland State Police, Trooper 7. The patient was flown to an area shock trauma center for treatment.

Detectives and Crime Lab Technicians from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to continue the investigation.

  1. This is a daily occurrence now. Maybe it is time to rethink plea bargaining, (Jaymi Sterling) and sentencing of the convicted (Judge’s). Staffing levels of SMSCO and MSP should be looked at too. It is time for SMSCO to have traffic cameras on all roads. If you can’t hire enough LEOS, traffic cameras are a cost effective “Force multiplier.”
